Mortgage Field Inspectors

We have one opening for someone seeking immediate work in Queens, experienced inspectors in other counties welcome to apply. This is an Independent Contractor/Self Employed position, so you need to be able to hustle and work independently without direct supervision. Prefered candidates are early risers as the optimal time to be on route is between 7am-3pm to avoid traffic. Relevant experience working for Uber, Doordash, Amazon, etc. a plus.

Per NYS Zombie Property Law we perform inspections on behalf of Mortgage Companies and Banks on delinquent properties. Your duty is to report the occupancy status and condition of the properties and document your results with supporting photos and submit those results from your phone via the mobile app InspectorADE. You will be assigned to a territory in which you will be responsible for all inspections in that area. You will be driving to multiple properties a day (experienced inspectors do up to 100 orders a day) performing various types of inspections for Mortgage Lenders, Insurance Companies, Banks etc. Most inspections will be to verify the occupancy status of the home and support with photos of the front of house, address, street sign, neighborhood, and occupancy indicators at the property. Less than 10% of inspections are of vacant/abandoned properties. You will need to be comfortable going inside and taking photos of all rooms and report any damages. Our inspectors do a lot of driving and so you should enjoy driving as you will be spending most of your day in the car.

Duties

We pay weekly via Direct Deposit every Monday. Pay is one month after the inspections are completed ex: orders completed the week of  1/1/2015 – 1/7/2015 are paid out on Monday 2/9/2015

Most inspectors average $600 – $1000 a week, with our most experienced inspectors making up to $1500 week. The work is paid on a per inspection basis, so the more efficiently you complete the orders the more money you can make. A good routing software to minimize driving time between properties is important. At first you’re going to be slow, but after a week or two, you should be up to speed. If you are experienced and want or need more overall volume, just let us know and we can discuss opening you up to a larger area.

As an Independent Contractor you are not required to work any specific days, however orders need to be completed on time. To take the weekend off, on Friday make sure to complete any orders falling due that weekend. We can grant a one day extension with sufficient notice (at least 1 day before the due date). However, the weekends are the easiest days of the week to work as there is no rush hour or school traffic, so we recommend working the weekends and taking weekdays off to maximize how much you make.

Aspen iRecordTM is a Standardized Background Compliance Solution through Aspen Grove Solutions for the Financial Services Industry. The Mortgage Field Services industry uses this centrally managed criminal background check process to verify onsite that an inspector has the credentials to conduct mortgage field services at every property they visit. Aspen iRecordTM assigns a unique “ABC” number to those who pass a criminal background check through Aspen Grove Solutions. This system will require the inspector to enter their ABC number into the InspectorADE cell phone app.  You will not be able to conduct an inspection for any Mortgage Field Services company unless you provide your unique ABC number.
